magnificent port city built by Herod the Great. Paul was imprisoned
here for two years. Peter's great story about not withholding the
waters of baptism from the new Gentile convert Cornelius, the Roman
centurion, happened here. Paul was urged by local Christians not to go
up to Jerusalem as they feared fir his safety.
